I really want this to be a fresh start for me. Cheshire was just too much to handle, with the constant meds and the security checks and all of that.. it was so depressing and it felt like Tristan and I could never even get a chance to get over what's bothering us. I went back to Illinois for awhile, and God, leaving him was the hardest thing I've been through since Annie died. Haddonfield was just nothing but bad memories, bad everything. So when he mentioned this place in a letter and said he'd been offered a slot... I begged Sheriff Brackett to send me there too. Illinois isn't the place for me... the place for me is with him, and in a hospital that isn't as rigid. I mean, I'm not crazy anymore. It's just the dreams...

Personality:

Owen is married to his job, which he takes incredibly seriously to the point of having very, very little life outside it. His frequent sarcasm might make it out like he's miserable but it's simply a defense mechanism and habit he has in place to keep people out. It's no surprise he ended up at Meadowsweet where he fits right in, but try psychoanalyzing him. He -will- take offense.

Still, no one can always be thorny and when he feels the need, Owen has a juvenile sense of humor. He has an excessively high opinion of himself but doesn't make a big deal of it outside the occasional patronizing comment or treatment of a patient or peer. He is also a womanizer with a bad habit of office relationships, none of which really end well.

Owen is usually the first person to complain or point out a flaw in a plan or displeasure at a situation and sometimes gets himself in trouble for it, but makes up for it by being a surprisingly loyal friend and incredibly hard worker.

History:

Owen's childhood sucked, plain and simple. His mother and father barely got along and divorced when he was eight. He spent most of his time passed back and forth as a burden, neither parent really wanting the responsibility when they could be more focused on dating. Despite this, he did very well in school, focusing most of his energy into his studies to escape the neglect and verbal abuse he often suffered.

Once he was old enough for college, (which in the UK is a preparatory school for university rather than what is thought of as college in the states) Owen got himself accepted into a really good program and left home. He never looked back. He was at the top of his class and easily got into a good university, where he studied medicine.

During his residency, he met a girl interning as part of getting her nursing degree and soon fell in love. They were inseparable and engaged to be married when she suddenly came through A&E (ER in the states) after a horrible auto accident. Recently finished with his degree, he'd been working there and was forced to the sidelines, unable to help because of others refusal to allow him (seeing it would be so personal). When she didn't make it, Owen went through a change that left him bitter and disinterested in love or relationships, as he was so deeply crushed by his loss.

In 2008, Owen left London for the United States, where he soon found work in a calmer, quieter setting than he'd become accustomed to. He's been at Meadowsweet Asylum ever since.

	Works for me. Since Spike is asking Trystan about her and such, I was gonna have it to where she hasn't been transferred yet. And it's only realistic to assume she'd be in lockdown in on the third floor for awhile, given her history. (Reply to this) (Parent)
